Description
We are looking for experienced and detail-oriented ceramic Tile Flooring Installers to join our company. As a 1099 independent contractor, you will install ceramic tile flooring in residential homes, working with homeowners to ensure a high-quality finish. This role offers the flexibility to manage your own schedule while working on a variety of residential flooring projects. You must have experience in tile installation and possess the tools and skills necessary to deliver top-tier results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install ceramic tile flooring in residential homes, including cutting, laying, and grouting tiles.
- Prepare surfaces for installation, ensuring they are level, clean, and properly primed.
- Measure and mark the layout of tiles to ensure symmetry and a professional finish.
- Cut and shape tiles to fit around obstacles such as cabinets, corners, and other fixtures.
- Mix and apply adhesives, mortars, and grout to secure tiles in place.
- Ensure consistent tile spacing and alignment for a high-quality aesthetic.
- Remove existing flooring if necessary and dispose of debris properly.
- Communicate with homeowners to understand their preferences and provide recommendations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring no damage is done to the property.
- Follow local building codes and safety regulations to ensure proper installation.
- Use and maintain your own tools, such as tile cutters, spacers, and levels, efficiently and safely.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the tile installation process.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in installing ceramic tile flooring in residential homes.
- Strong understanding of tile installation methods, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow installation layouts and design plans.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure precise cuts, spacing, and alignment.
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work directly with homeowners.
- Must have your own transportation and tile installation tools.
- Valid driver’s license and liability insurance (required).
- Physically able to lift materials and work in positions such as kneeling or standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of local building codes and installation best practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
Work Schedule:
- Flexible schedule with the ability to accept or decline projects based on availability.
- Jobs will be assigned based on your service area and preferred workload.
Compensation:
- Pay is project-based, with competitive rates determined by the scope of work.
- Payment will be made direct deposit weekly upon completion of each project (specific terms to be discussed).
- Potential for ongoing work based on performance and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Must operate as an independent contractor (1099 status).
- Responsible for paying your own taxes, insurance, and managing your own business operations.
- Must adhere to all local building codes and regulations for carpet installation.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain necessary contractor licenses if required by local or state regulations.
- Must have or be willing to get the EPA required Lead Based Paint Renovator Certification for work done in homes built before 1979
- Must have business General Liability and Worker's Comp Insurance
- Must have a reliable vehicle and/or trailer to pickup and deliver product safely to jobsites.
